Callback Dates: April 11th - April 12 (Virtual with Lead Actress)

Logline: While struggling to write her dissertation, a young Filipino grad student must reunite with her family following the death of her lola—and consequently face the truth she’s been kept in the dark from for so long.

*Notes on Ethnicity: The Philippines and Filipinos are essentially very diverse. That being said, we are open to individuals that may come from a mixed Filipino background but in a way that makes sense to our story/the history of the Philippines (i.e. actors who are mixed race and identify as Chinese-Filipino, Caucasian-Filipino, Spanish-Filipino, etc.). 

*Please note that our lead actress for Liezel is of mixed-Filipino background, and so to make sense to our story, immediate relatives such as Marian (mother) and Letty (aunt) should appear to have a similar ethnic background.

MARIAN - Casting Details:

Marian 50-65 years old. Filipino. An austere matriarch. Marian is the head of her family, the oldest daughter of her mother. Liezel is her only child and someone she gave birth to at a young age. Instead of this causing them to have a close relationship, her high expectations on Liezel combined with Liezel’s stubbornness drives a rift between them. She is very guarded, the kind of person that you can never be sure is telling you the whole truth.

Marian Casting Sides: 

• INT. LIEZEL’S CHILDHOOD BEDROOM - DAY

Principal Photography: 3-4 Days, 1 rehearsal. TBD November/December 2026.

LETTY - Casting Details:

Letty 50-65 years old. Filipino. Marian’s younger sister. Letty is soft spoken and gentle, a motherly figure that Liezel is much more comfortable around. At the same time, Letty possesses steadfast loyalty to her family and older sister. So although she loves Liezel, Letty still respects Marian too much to oppose her.
